Eugene Dalton Obituary

Eugene F. Dalton, age 89, a resident of Oak Ridge, went home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Tennova Hospice in Knoxville after a short illness.  He was born August 24, 1925 in Fentress County and graduated from York Institute High School in Jamestown and also later attended University of Tennessee in Knoxville, joining the United States Navy at the age of 18.  He served proudly during WWII and received several medals during his years of service to his country.  After returning from the military Eugene became a member of the Jamestown Masonic Lodge No. 281.  He later moved to Oak Ridge and joined Trinity United Methodist Church where he served as Trustee from 2003 until the church closed in 2008.  He then transferred his membership to First United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge.  Eugene retired from Martin Marietta as a maintenance machinist with 34 years of dedication, working at both K-25 & Y-12 Nuclear Plants.  He was a member of the Machinist Local Union No. 480 for the past 34 years.  In his spare time he loved playing bingo but his greatest joy came from being around his family and especially his grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his parents, Leonard & Delta Dalton; sisters, Joyce Sloan & Margaret Clark; brother, Dr. Pete Dalton.
