Mrs. Melinda Taubert Gubiotti, of Knoxville, TN died Sunday, June 5, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. She was 48 years old.
Mrs. Gubiotti was a homemaker and an avid community volunteer with the American Heart Association, spearheading teams for fundraising walks, organizing community concerts, participating in speaking engagements, and assisting with office administrative duties. Previously, she volunteered with the Arthritis Foundation. She also worked with her father for many years at Taubert’s Appliance Store. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jamestown.
Mrs. Gubiotti loved to travel, with Aruba being her favorite destination. In 2013, she and her husband Ross renewed their wedding vows for their 20th anniversary on the beach at the Bucuti and Tara Suite Resort, with immediate family and friends in attendance.
Mrs. Gubiotti is preceded in death by her father, Judson Bernard Taubert. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Ross; stepchildren Michael and Jennifer Gubiotti of Marysville, Ohio; mother, JoAnn Taubert of Jamestown, TN; sister, Tina Majors of Spring Hill, TN; and sister-in-law, Ann Gubiotti of Brooklyn, NYC. She also is survived by nephew Ben Majors and wife Tricia, and nieces Christina and Catherine Majors.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 10, 2016 at Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown. Dr. Gayle R. Hartley officiated. Internment followed at the Fentress Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers included Michael Gubiotti, Ben Majors, Michael Austin, Gregory Weaver, Darrell Pritchett, and Lance Pitts. Arrangements were by Mundy Funeral Home of Jamestown.
