Pamela Mundy Obituary

Mrs. Pamela (Pam) Mundy, age 52, of Jamestown, lost a courageous 3-year battle with cancer on Saturday, September 5 at her home.

Pam was born October 3, 1962 to Dennis Richards and Marlene (Phipps).  Marlene later married Mitch Stephens, and together Marlene and Mitch raised five daughters; Connie, Linda, Pam, Lisa and Teckla.

Pam graduated from Clarkrange High School in 1980.  In 1985 she married her sweetheart Roy Lee Mundy.  In December of 1988 their world was made complete with the birth of their son Chad.

Through the years Pam served the public in several jobs: at the Fentress County General Hospital, Burden Drug Center, Fentress County Bank, Fentress County Courthouse, and later at the Fentress County Ambulance Service.  Pam and her husband Roy Lee were also co-owners of Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

After being diagnosed with cancer in July 2012, Pam retired to fight a hard battle.  She enjoyed nothing more than time with her family and friends.  She enjoyed photography, scrap booking, and traveling.  Her love of people was evident and the lives she touched were many.  That love was reflected in the hundreds who turned out to wait in long lines for the visitation, and who attended her funeral service.

She was a loving nanny and enjoyed being a member of Global Force Church.  Her battle with cancer was a rough one, but she was surrounded by family and friends until the end.  She is survived by her husband, Roy Lee Mundy of Jamestown; son, Chad Mundy and wife Anna; mother-in-law, Treva Mundy; grandchildren, Paris, Kiara, Kaden and Talon; sisters, Connie Fletcher and husband James, Linda Hurst, Lisa Reagon and husband Michael; Teckla Stephens and husband Jamie; four nieces, four nephews, and two great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Richards,  father, Mitch Stephens; her mother, Marlene (Phipps) Stephens, and father-in-law, Roy Mundy.

She is also survived by many special friends, including John and Loretta Richards, Jimmy and Marsha Dickens, Ricky and Loretta Sells, Ken and Sheila Hancock, Jill Jones, Crystal Tompkins, and Jason and Rachelle Kerr.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Global Force Church, with Pastor Jason Kerr and Bro. Tommy Duncan officiating.  Burial followed in the Fentress Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers included Garry Burks, Jimmy Dickens, Tony Farris, Ken Hancock, John Richards, and Ricky Sells.

The Mundy Funeral Home of Jamestown was in charge of the services.
