Sarah Wright Obituary

Ineta Johnson Wright, age 90, of Jamestown, TN, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family..

Ineta Johnson Wright was born on July 31, 1926 in Fentress County. She was one of 15 children born to Joe and Audie Johnson. She attended Alvin C. York Agricultural Institute and completed the 9th grade. She later obtained her GED, an accomplishment that she was very proud of, which was reflected in her strong belief in the value of education.

She married Clay Wright on August 21, 1942. This union was blessed with two children, Ralph Wright and Barbara Duncan.

She worked for a number of years in several garment factories in various locations. During this same time, she also owned and operated her own fabric shop, which allowed her to exhibit her talent and expertise as a skilled seamstress. Later, she and Clay opened and managed four garment factories in Fentress and Cumberland County. The provided employment opportunities for approximately 250 individuals.

She was a faithful member of South Main Street Baptist Church and was also an active member of the Jamestown Order of Eastern Star.

She thoroughly enjoyed gardening, yard work, sewing, and cooking. Although she was known for her delicious food and her beautiful flower gardens, her favorite and most beloved past time was taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She dedicated her life to serving the Lord, her family and her community. Her 90 years of life have truly been a blessing to many. This wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend leaves a legacy of treasured memories that will live in our hearts forever.
