Sharon Garrett Obituary

Mrs. Sharon M.Garrett, was serenaded by Angels, as she was granted her last wish to go home, on Saturday July 31, 2021 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Sharon was born on June 13, 1944, the daughter of the late Fred and Edith Moody of Jamestown, Tn. Sharon is survived by her loving husband, of 55 years, Clarence Garrett; Son's Jon Garrett and wife Lisa Garrett, Scott Garrett and wife Amber Garrett of Oak Grove Louisiana. Grandchildren: Peyton Garrett, Lauren Garrett, Joshua Garrett, Riley Connell and AllyBeth Connell. One Brother: Darrell Moody and Wife Norma Moody of Allardt, Tn. Two Sister in Law's Geraldine Moody and Mary Moody, both of Jamestown, Tn and a host of loving friends and nieces and nephews with special nieces Rhonda Moody Tate Crabtree of Jamestown, Tn and Amanda Collins of Mt.      Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Edith Moody of Jamestown Tn. Brothers, Larry Moody and Rondal Moody, Father in law and mother in law Rev. Wilburn Garrett and Avo Garrett of Mt. Helen and Billie C. Garrett the mother of Peyton Garrett. Sharon was a graduate of the Alvin C. York Agricultural Institute and served as the secretary of the Beta Club. Sharon began her young professional career at the age of 18 years old with the State of Tennessee serving as the Public Health Director for the Fentress County Department of Health until she retired. Sharon later married Mr. Clarence Garrett on December 10, 1965 at the Pine Haven Church of the Nazarene. Sharon truly understood what it meant to have a servant's heart. Sharon was the epitome of someone that truly put others first. This was proven in her family, her church and the community in which she served.

Sharon was an active and longtime member of the United Wesleyan Church in Jamestown, Tn. She had a love and passion for young people. She taught the teenage class and young adult class for many years with a desire for the youth to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Sharon was truly a woman of God encouraging others to always put God first in all they do.  Sharon always said, “ You are as young as you fee” and she lived it.

Sharon had a contagious desire to travel, camp, and she loved new adventures. If you mentioned a trip she was ready to go at a moments notice. She loved to cook for her family and friends specializing in her famous chess pie or meatloaf.  More than anything she had a passion for loving Jesus. She always looked for ways to serve others even when it meant neglecting her own care.  She took pride in sharing her love and kindness to her family, her church and community. She served many years as a volunteer at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Her smile and presence will be missed by many.
