William "Kirby" Johnson

William “Kirby” Johnson, age 68, of Cookeville, quietly passed from this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, in Smith County, TN.

He was born in Oneida, TN, on April 4, 1955.  Kirby graduated from York Institute in 1973, where he was active in all sports, and especially enjoyed 4-years on the football team. He graduated  the University of TN in Knoxville, with a B.S. in Accounting.  Kirby supported the University of TN Volunteers, and many other sports teams throughout his life. Before his illness, Kirby was a commercial truck driver.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Fentress Memorial Gardens.

Wife of 20 years, Patricia (Stewart) Johnson
Father, William C. "Bill" Johnson
Sister, Kathy (Johnson) Jones and husband Tim
Brothers, Kevin Johnson 
               Kerry Johnson and wife Crystal
Numerous Beloved Nieces, Nephews, other Family and Friends
 
He is preceded in death by his:
Mother, Nancy (Sharp) Johnson
